We all got together at the Rig Lounge (reunion headquarters) on Thursday night where we sang karaoke, joked around, and got caught up with one another and even Debby's potbellied pig joined us. After closing the bar down we all gathered to figure out where to take the party next. If that wasn't a high school moment, I don't know what was.
Friday a group of us spent a few hours on a hillside in 90-degree temperatures fixing up our class of 88 rocks with white paint the consistency of glue and tackled a few prickly pear cactus in the process - but the rocks can now be seen from the highway! And thanks to Wendy & Russell, we had plenty of beverages in a cooler to keep us hydrated while on the hill.
Friday night the town had the fireworks display, followed by a private display in the parking lot of the Rig Lounge.
Saturday we got the float decorated and a few of us even got into the whole 80's theme for dressing for the parade. Thanks again to Wendy & Russell for keeping everyone hydrated with their cooler full of beverage choices and for doing 90% of the work on the float. Mr. Rust got the privilege of being right in front of us during the parade and was sure we just had kool-aid in our cups, right?! After the parade, we drove the float into the Rig Lounge and kept the party going until the picnic.
The picnic was luau style and being the typical small-town potluck, we had enough food to feed a small country. After the parade we headed downtown for the street dance and our last night of fun until the next time we get together.
Thanks to everyone for all their help and for showing up to make this reunion awesome (had to throw that in there). If you happened to miss the party - you missed out big time and you were missed by the rest of us so we hope to see you next time around.
