WHAT A PARTY!!!!!!

Some of us are just starting to recover from the reunion weekend. We had quite the turnout of friends and day after day of events going on. Thanks to everyone for showing up, helping out and making this reunion incredibly fun. I have attached a few pictures of the festivities.

We all got together at the Rig Lounge (reunion headquarters) on Thursday night where we sang karaoke, joked around, and got caught up with one another and even Debby's potbellied pig joined us. After closing the bar down we all gathered to figure out where to take the party next. If that wasn't a high school moment, I don't know what was.

Friday a group of us spent a few hours on a hillside in 90-degree temperatures fixing up our class of 88 rocks with white paint the consistency of glue and tackled a few prickly pear cactus in the process - but the rocks can now be seen from the highway! And thanks to Wendy & Russell, we had plenty of beverages in a cooler to keep us hydrated while on the hill.

Friday night the town had the fireworks display, followed by a private display in the parking lot of the Rig Lounge.

Saturday we got the float decorated and a few of us even got into the whole 80's theme for dressing for the parade. Thanks again to Wendy & Russell for keeping everyone hydrated with their cooler full of beverage choices and for doing 90% of the work on the float. Mr. Rust got the privilege of being right in front of us during the parade and was sure we just had kool-aid in our cups, right?! After the parade, we drove the float into the Rig Lounge and kept the party going until the picnic.

The picnic was luau style and being the typical small-town potluck, we had enough food to feed a small country. After the parade we headed downtown for the street dance and our last night of fun until the next time we get together.

Thanks to everyone for all their help and for showing up to make this reunion awesome (had to throw that in there). If you happened to miss the party - you missed out big time and you were missed by the rest of us so we hope to see you next time around.

I hope everyone is getting mentally prepared for our 20-year reunion. I also hope you're getting your 80's outfit ready.

The class reunion schedule is finally done. Remember to stop by the Rig (reunion headquarters) for reunion information and the potluck sign-up sheets. See You Soon!!!

PICTURES - PICTURES - PICTURES

I need lots of pictures, so take some time to stroll down memory lane, dust off those photo albums and send me some various photo's that I can use for a project I would like to have done for the reunion. And everyone can have a copy as a keepsake if I can get it done correctly and on time.

If possible, please email me some pictures from when you were a kid, when you were in elementary school, when you were in high school, after high school, all the way up to today. I don't need a lot from each person, but would like a wide cross-section through the years that represents you. They can be sent to candace@brauer-ltd.com

Some ideas to think of for pictures:
  • Class photo's from various years
  • Pictures of you with your friends
  • Baby picture's
  • Picture with things you liked (animals, vehicles, sports, etc.)
  • Senior Photo
  • Party Photo's (keep them as clean as possible)
  • Fashion Photo's (easy to find from the 80's)
  • Recent photo's of you, your family, etc.

Getting Started

Right now the planning is still preliminary but we wanted to get this information out as soon as possible so everyone can start planning for taking time off work and working around other summer events, because those fill up fast. We are going to hold the reunion over the 4th of July weekend as this is a nice long weekend filled with fun events, fireworks, street dances, etc., which means less planning and expenses for our class, and it also means that many more old friends who weren’t in our class to connect with. Speaking of, we may hold a joint reunion with the class of ’89 to make it more worthwhile for both classes.
I'll keep you posted on that.
